Meeting Organisations in Hong Kong: Concerning CSSA and Low Income Alliance

The Concerning CSSA and Low Income Alliance was established in 1998; Oxfam Hong Kong has been supporting its anti-poverty advocacy since 2004. The Alliance has been paying close attention to Hong Kong’s Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) policies, as well as the livelihoods of low-income families, for many years. In the past few years, inflation and global food prices have risen and rents for private housing (including sub-divided units and cubicle apartments) have soared. In order to cope with these rising costs, low-income families have had to adopt strategies to reduce their daily expenses. Thus, the Concerning CSSA and Low Income Alliance is encouraging the government to formulate new policies to relieve the pressure on low-income and CSSA families.
