Several provinces in China including Sichuan, Gansu and Shaanxi have been ravaged by heavy rain and serious flooding. As of mid-July, the floods have killed 99 people in the three provinces; over 5.69 million people have been affected and 452,000 people have been evacuated. More than 50,000 houses toppled or were seriously damaged.

Oxfam Hong Kong is planning to deliver emergency supplies such as flour, cooking oil, hygiene kits, quilts, tents and waterproof fabrics for temporary shelter to the impoverished people in the affected regions, hoping to restore their basic needs. Oxfam Hong Kong also plans to allocate about 3 million yuan to the relief and early rehabilitation efforts in the three affected provinces.

Oxfam Hong Kong has also launched a public appeal for this disaster.
