Trade Justice / Fair Trade
Under unfair international trade policy, the returns of farmers' production are so severely squeezed that not only are they unable to make ends meet, but their income cannot even cover production costs. Unfair trade does not benefit farmers in developing countries—it exacerbates their poverty.
The Fair Trade campaign provides an alternative to conventional trade. Oxfam believes that Fair Trade is one way for farmers in developing countries to get out of poverty.
