India and the World: Understanding New Modes of Engagement

India witnessed a second wave of high growth during the period between 2003 and 2008, however with many problems arising simultaneously. Being an Indian journalist, the writer not only raised doubts about the actual achievement of the growth and the justice issues behind, but also made heavy criticisms of the public welfare policies. According to him, with India’s growth rate declining, the government’s commitments to the poor will be unsustainable. At the same time, internationally, India hardly follows through with the principles it sets out, which shows that India has a long way to go before the country can fully realize its potentials.
