Event Theme:
We invite all teachers and students in the school to donate the cost of one day's lunch, and the school can choose a day for everyone to wear casual green clothes to school. Participants will receive a designated session for the Oxfam School Poverty Day activity, allowing them to deeply experience the importance of poverty alleviation work and directly help support impoverished people affected by extreme weather conditions.
Event Details:
A. Phase One (On-Campus Practice) - Oxfam School Poverty Day: Donation to Oxfam for an on-campus fundraising event
- Open for registration throughout the year.
- Participants can choose to wear casual green attire to school or directly donate the cost of one day's lunch ($40).
- Each donor will receive an Oxfam badge as a token of participation.
- Oxfam staff/volunteers will visit the school to provide interactive talks, supplemented by videos and examples of Oxfam's poverty alleviation work. This will allow children, teenagers, and parents to have a deeper understanding of the needs of children in poverty-stricken areas and encourage reflection and understanding of life and the world.
B. Phase Two (Off-Campus Practice) - Online Flag Selling
- Two weeks after the event, there will be an online flag-selling activity where students will act as online volunteers
- Students are encouraged to register as online volunteers and set up electronic flag bags. They can invite friends and family to purchase electronic flags online, thus changing the fate of those in need.
- Limited edition Oxfam souvenirs will be given to donors who donate a specified amount, while supplies last.
Fundraising awards will be given. - The "Highest Fundraiser Award" will be presented to the top ten fundraising volunteers in the school, who will receive surprise gifts, including Oxfam limited edition gift packs.
- Any student who successfully raises over $100 will receive a e-certificate.

Oxfam School Poverty Day Fundraising Event
Participants can choose one of the following designated activities (20-30 minutes) for free

1. Interactive School Talk (Theme: Poverty and Us)
2. Picture Book Reading <豆豆看貧窮> / <粒粒都辛苦>
Oxfam staff will provide dynamic explanations of the causes of poverty, supplemented by videos and examples of Oxfam's poverty alleviation achievements. This will allow children, teenagers, and parents to have a deeper understanding of the needs of residents in impoverished areas and further understand and care about the impact of poverty.
Benefits:
- Instil in students the values of caring for others and educate them on how to pay attention to the most vulnerable groups in society. This helps cultivate empathy and a sense of social responsibility, turning them into citizens who care about others.
- Help students recognize that while they are fortunate, they also have an obligation to help those in need. It broadens their horizons and makes them more appreciative of what they have, teaching them to share with others.
- Provide students with opportunities to put their learning into practice. For example, they can organize activities to learn organizational and coordination skills, leadership abilities, and communication skills.
- Enhance the reputation and image of the school.
