ASSISTANT MANAGER  (2-year contract, renewable)

The Assistant Managerreports to Hong Kong Programme Manager. S/he is part of the Hong Kong Programme Team and works with the team on Hong Kong poverty issues.

S/he serves as the main staff member managing OHK’s external funding projects, including but not limited to the ethnic minority education and vocational training programme. S/he consolidates diverse resources while providing support to other teams. S/he will liaise with other staff in the Hong Kong Programme Unit and other units.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in identifying community needs and brainstorming innovative project ideas that align with OHK’s mission, contributing to the planning and feasibility assessment process throughout project incubation.
  • Lead the identification and tracking of external funding opportunities from foundations and corporations, while supporting the preparation and submission of high-quality funding applications.
  • Support Hong Kong Programme Manager - in managing and executing external funding projects.
  • Coordinate meetings with funders, governments and other external stakeholders and build rapport.
  • Prepare progress reports for external funding.
  • Support the overall management of the Hong Kong Programme.


Requirements:

  • Degree holder with at least 8 years of experience, preferably in project management and/or social services, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Candidates with less experience will be considered as Senior Officer.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in drafting grant proposals and managing the application process.
  • Understanding social issues and familiarity with local NGO networks would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese (both spoken and written) is required.
  • Competency in computer literacy, including MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Identification with Oxfam’s mission and vision is a must.
