Gone Running-Joint Dynamics completes Oxfam Trailwalker 2018 first

Gone Running-Joint Dynamics (pictured) was the first team to finish Oxfam Trailwalker 2018, using only 11 hours and 53 minutes to complete the arduous trail from Sai Kung to Yuen Long. Their team members are Brian McFlynn, Jeff Campbell, Michael Skobierski and John Ellis (photos 1 and 2).

AWOO Team Nepal came in a close second at 12 hours and 8 minutes. Their team members include Purna Tamang, Samir Tamang, Uttam Khatri and Suman Kulung (photos 3 and 4).

Stephen Tsui, Acting Director of Fundraising, greeted the team at the Finish Point and presented them with certificates.

In 2017, the first team finished in 12 hours and 1 minute, and Oxfam Hong Kong’s fastest record was made in 2013 at 10 hours and 58 minutes.

More than 10,000 people have joined Oxfam Trailwalker 2018, including 5,200 walkers, more than 8,000 support team members, staff and volunteers. Participants have taken up the 100 km challenge in teams of four and aim to finish it within 48 hours. The Start Point is in Pak Tam Chung in Sai Kung and the Finish Point is at Po Leung Kuk Jockey Club Tai Tong Holiday Camp in Yuen Long.

Through the years, Oxfam Trailwalker has become one of the largest fundraising hiking events in Hong Kong. This year, it has been and will be held in 16 cities in 9 countries (including Hong Kong).
