Elderly x Craft

Vocabulary such as ‘Ageing Society’, ‘Silver Economy’, and ‘Strong Generation’ not only relates to older adults, but also reflects very different values and perspectives towards them. So why not give young people the chance to engage with seniors directly and form their own views? In this activity, elderly facilitators share their life stories through a human library format and guide participants in creating crafts using twisting sticks. The experience encourages participants to recognise the value of older adults and to develop greater respect and appreciation for them.

Learning Focus: Local Poverty, Elderly Life, Social Stereotypes
