Elderly x Craft

Vocabulary such as ‘Ageing Society’, ‘Silver Economy’, and ‘Strong Generation’ not only relates to older adults, but also reflects very different values and perspectives towards them. So why not give young people the chance to engage with seniors directly and form their own views? In this activity, elderly facilitators share their life stories through a human library format and guide participants in creating crafts using twisting sticks. The experience encourages participants to recognise the value of older adults and to develop greater respect and appreciation for them.

Duration: 2-2.5 hours

Learning Focus: Local Poverty, Elderly Life, Social Stereotypes

Subdivided Flats x Picture Book x Craft

There are about 30,000 children under the age of 15 living in subdivided flats in Hong Kong. What are the hopes and dreams of these children? And how can they be realised? Participants are able to look into the living space of these children through the picture book ‘The Incredible Box’. They will also create a subdivided flat Fotomo (3D photo) to store their favorite things and dreams. Even in tiny spaces, children can have big dreams.

Learning Focus: Local Poverty, Subdivided Flats, Empathy, Children's Rights

Climate Crisis x Interactive Drama

Citizens of a small island nation face the threat of losing their homeland due to rising sea levels. They must decide whether to migrate or stay — all while seeking international support to implement global emission reduction measures. Will the island survive the climate crisis? Participants can experience the XR version of this scenario at our centre.

Climate Crisis x Picture Book

The city is filled with various kinds of monsters. They arbitrarily disrupt the weather and roam around, affecting the distant island. The livelihoods and health of farmers and residents are destroyed, ruining the once beautiful island. What can be done to take down these monsters? It seems that these monsters are somehow connected to me… Is it possible for me to make a change?

Duration: 1 hour

Learning Focus: Climate Change, Man and Environment, Rights and Responsibilities

Livelihoods of Farmers x Board Game Experience

A group of small-scale farmers once lived in harmony, growing crops and raising livestock on modest plots of land. They were self-sufficient and led stable lives. But as global demand for food surged, natural disasters intensified, and powerful corporations and governments increasingly exploited these farmers, throwing them into crisis. In the board game ‘Captain Farmer’, participants step into the shoes of these small farmers, collaborating to complete mission objectives. Throughout the game, players face the same challenges and crises that real farmers encounter, building understanding and empathy through gameplay.

Duration: 1.5 hours

Learning Focus: Globalisation, Human-environment Relationships, Food Production, and Farmers’ Livelihoods
