Oxfam believes that everyone can be an active agent in making a better world.
Through a great deal of various youth training programme, we strive to raise youngsters awareness on poverty and justice issues and to build up their sense of global citizenship.
We also co-organize teacher trainings and workshops with Education Bureau and local schools. Through the comprehensive programme teachers can exchange different teaching methods with others, and explore different issues on globalization, food justice, climate change and poverty.
Scavenger Hunt Design Lab (2018)
The Scavenger Hunt Design Lab is a new programme in Hong Kong that is perfect for people who love playing, designing, and learning about outdoor escape-room-style challenges and puzzles. That’s not all! You’ll be doing this all while learning about local communities, meeting new people and travelling to Taipei to play games and visit our local partners!
Working in teams, you will design a scavenger hunt / outdoor escape room game for others to explore a different angle of the local community through varies social issues.
By joining this programme, you will walk away from the experience with:
- A greater understanding of communities in Hong Kong and Taiwan
- A deeper understanding of various social issues
- Game design skills
- New ideas to design escape room games
- New friends

Eligibility
- Age 18 - 35
- Interested in game design and community issues
Format
You can join as a group (4 max.) or an individual
Individuals can form a group during the orientation session
Language
The programme will be conducted in both Cantonese and Mandarin. English translations will be provided if needed.
Participation Fees & Expenses
- Public: HK$2,700*
- Full-time student: HK$2,400*
*In addition, participants will need to deposit HK$1,200, but this will be refunded upon completing 80% of the programme. The fee covers the cost of admission, training, airfare, accommodation, games, and materials, but it does not cover travel insurance, transportation, visa, and meals.
