Oxfam Hong Kong (OHK) is grateful for the patience and trust of all Oxfam Trailwalker participants despite how uncertain the past three years have been.

OHK has received written notice from the government. Although, OHK has already reduced the event size to 400 teams (1,600 participants), the government believes that there remains a large number of people involved in the event. And with the prolonged duration of the event, participants will need to take off their masks to consume food and beverages. After exploring all possible options and after much careful consideration, OHK has decided that it will need to switch to a virtual OTW. It is proactively working on launching ‘Oxfam Trailwalker 2022-VIRTUALLY TOGETHER (OTW 2022-VT)’, which will be held from 28 Nov to 18 Dec, further details will be announced next week.

Despite the uncertainties in the world, OHK believe that all trailwalkers are resilient in the face of change, just like its theme this year. OHK sincerely invites everyone to join the OTW and walk for a good cause.

To teams that raised over HK$20,000 in OTW 2021-VIRTUALLY TOGETHER, OHK would like to offer its heartfelt apologies as it is unable to offer a team quota for an in-person event this year. That said, this team quota will be carried forward until OHK can hold the next in-person OTW event. If any of these teams would like to join the OTW 2022-VT, they will only need to raise the minimum donation amount; the registration fee will be waived.

The donations raised will be used to support OHK’s poverty alleviation work in Hong Kong and around the world.
It has always been OHK’s goal to host an in-person OTW again. OHK will continue to work with various government departments, and is aiming for an in-person event in February 2023. OHK will be sure to keep participants up to date on the latest developments. As always, it remains committed to pressing ahead with all supporters and hopes to see everyone on the trail soon.
