Oxfam Hong Kong is pleased to announce the appointment of Henry Tang Chi Fai as its new Director General, effective 15 October 2025.

Henry joined Oxfam Hong Kong in December 2024 as Director of Operations. Since July 2025, Henry has been Acting Director General and the Council is very pleased to confirm his permanent appointment. Prior to joining Oxfam, Henry was Managing Director of Finance at multinational corporations in the Asia-Pacific, bringing expertise in corporate governance, financial transformation, risk management, resource allocation, and board-level functions. A long-time supporter of Oxfam, he has participated in the Oxfam Trailwalker four times since 2013.

“Henry has provided stability as Acting Director General, demonstrating strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of Oxfam Hong Kong’s operations. His commitment to open communication has further fostered a positive workplace. As a dedicated Oxfam Trailwalker for years, Henry is committed to Oxfam Hong Kong’s continued growth. We look forward to his leadership as the organisation celebrates its 50th anniversary.” said Wayne Porritt, Council Chairperson of Oxfam Hong Kong.

I am passionate about collaborating with our dedicated staff, Council, committees, donors, and the communities we serve to enhance Oxfam’s impact and foster a more inclusive, equitable future for all."
