Tai Po Fire “Solidarity Support Programme”

On 26 November 2025, a level 5 fire occurred at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, Hong Kong, the casualty count has exceeded 200 as of 28 November 2025. Nearly 2,000 households have been displaced and require urgent support.

Oxfam Hong Kong’s Response

Oxfam Hong Kong has activated its emergency relief mechanism and set up the Tai Po Fire “Solidarity Support Programme” to aid affected households. At the same time, all public donations raised through “Oxfam Trailwalker 2025” and suitable supplies from the event will be allocated to residents affected by the fire to help them overcome this difficult time.

All public donations raised will be used entirely for supporting affected households.

Oxfam Hong Kong has been assessing the needs of affected households, coordinating with our local partners, and developing a series of projects to ensure more effective delivery of support. We will distribute HK$5,000 one-off emergency cash assistance to each affected household identified by our partners. The application process has been streamlined to expedite support delivery to cover their immediate expenses timely.

The fire has left countless families homeless. In addition to immediate emergency support, we are providing affected residents with medium- to long-term holistic assistance, such as essential household appliances, electronic devices, emotional and psychological counselling, and support needed after relocating to temporary housing.
